The Design ProcessShowroom Visit
We encourage potential clients to visit our well-appointed showroom. Spend time to look around, meet our designers and review our Portfolio of completed jobs. If you have measurements with you, we can discuss your project in the showroom and proceed to Design Development below. If you are not sure of how to improve your space, but like what you see in our showroom, please make an appointment for your In-Home Consultation. In-Home Consultation
During your In-Home Consultation, we will discuss the possibilities for your space and your desired project outcome. We encourage members of your family to be present. It helps us to see how the space is functioning so we can discuss additional forms of space utilization. We review the architecture of the adjacent rooms to ensure the new space compliments the existing surroundings. After discussing your functional, aesthetic and budgetary desires, we take measurements and pictures back to our design studio and prepare the Design Development. Your In-Home Consultation is the time to discuss ideas you have been gathering. Open communication and the exchange of ideas will result in a space that you will enjoy for many years to come. There is a $250.00 non-refundable fee for an In-Home Consultation. Design Development During the Design Development phase, we process the information we've gathered into a beautiful and functional kitchen that meets your needs and your budget guidelines. During this time, our designer prepares space plans, elevations, perspective 3D views, and price quotations while gathering samples and other information in preparation for the Design Presentation meeting to follow. Design Presentation
At the Design Presentation meeting in our showroom, we will unveil the proposed design solution for your space and review the design features with you. Perspective 3D views, plans and elevations will be presented, along with proposed finishes to help you visualize the space. The project estimate will be presented based on this solution. During the presentation, there may be changes to the design that you would like to see. To proceed with Design Revisions, a Design Retainer is required to continue. This retainer is applied to the final project or otherwise retained by MacDowell Custom Kitchens, Inc. Upon receipt of the Design Retainer, drawings will be released to you. Design Revisions Upon receipt of the Design Retainer, we will schedule meetings to discuss changes to the plans until the Final Design Solution has been achieved. Depending on the number of revisions resulting from scope-change or other factors, it may be deemed necessary to obtain additional design fees. Final Design Solution Upon signed approval of the final design and contract, a 50% deposit is required to place orders for your project. Final balances for materials are due prior to delivery. Project references are available to you upon request.
